Grey’s Monument, Newcastle upon Tyne Grey’s Monument, Newcastle upon Tyne, is the monument to Charles Grey, 2nd Earl Grey and is built in the centre of Newcastle at the top of Grey Street. It commemorates the passing of the Great Reform Act of 1832, the statue was created by Edward Hodges Baily who also created Nelson’s Statue in Trafalgar Square London.
