Waterfront Gazebos of Ware, Hertfordshire If you walk along the River lea in Ware you will see these gazebos. Nowhere else in Britain can you find so many gazebos along one stretch of a river Their construction took place from about 1600 and into the 18th and early 19th centuries, They were built by innkeepers and owners of property on the high street, and were intended as a means of finding some peace and quiet away from the noise and bustle of the towns many coaching inns.
