Westborough 1950s and 2009

When I took the first photo in the early 1950s the light traffic of the time allowed me to stand in the middle of the road and compose the shot. In those days cars were a little noisier than now so one could hear if a car was approaching from behind. The second shot in 2009 was taken during a 10 second break in the traffic, luckily Westborough is now one-way so I was able to visually assess the right moment to leap out and take the shot.

The Square 1950s & 2009

When I took the first photo in the early 1950s, I never thought I'd be standing on virtually the spot a little over 50 years later to take the second shot in 2009. Whereas 16 to 20 cars could park in the centre of the Square in the 50s for free. Currently, in 2009 only about 12 car spaces are available and for a price of course. Well that's progress for you.
