Wast Water View North to Yewbarrow, Great Gable and Scafell in the Lake District

In the western Lake District is Wast Water, England's deepest lake and considered by many to be England's most scenic view. Who could argue, with a left to right view of Yewbarrow, Great Gable and England's highest peak, Scafell Pike.

The view along Wast Water to the southwest is far less dramatic than the opposite view, but no less special, with some of the highest scree shoots, but mind you don't end up in the very cold water.

Packhorse Bridge Over the River Irt at Wasdale Head

This Packhorse bridge, now considered more picturesque than purposeful, is probably 18th century and crosses the River Irt at Wasdale Head, just north of Wast Water.
