The Lighthouse at the End of Start Point

South Devon's Start Bay is best known for Torcross and Slapton Sands, but at the bay's southern end is the Start Point Peninsula, with its lighthouse.

Start Point Lighthouse in South Devon

The rocky Start Point peninsula juts out into the English Channel about a mile and a half beyond the general coastline, so a Lighthouse is necessary. This beautiful, well maintained example is rightly a Grade II Listed Building.
