The River & The Mill Race at Lyme Regis Lyme Regis was built on the back of the Industrial Revolution, with many mills operating in the town. In the late 16th & the 17th Centuries the River Lym powered as many as 7 watermills and the Mill Race was constructed to divide the supply amongst those within the town. The Old Mill in Lyme Regis Town Mill was one of several mills working in Lyme Regis following the Industrial Revolution and this amongst others took its power from the River Lym or the Mill Race, which was sourced from that river.
