The Winnings, Welbeck Almshouses for retired Estate workers, who had no families. They were built with money that the 5th Duke had won with some of his race horses, hence the name. The names of the winning horses are listed on the rectangular stone at the front of the building. I can only remember one : "Semolina". My good old Raleigh bike is also in the picture .
