Ye Golden Lion, Sheep Street It was constructed as a house in 1540 and it displays a fine combination of limestone and ironstone lines and, as can be seen from my photo, a stout timber-framed bay projects from the left side of the main entrance. Croyland Abbey The building is named after Croyland Abbey in Lincolnshire for which it was a local monastic grange from the 10th century. The present structure is Jacobean with later additions. However, visible traces of the medieval grange still exist, perhaps dating from its rebuilding by Abbot Richard in 1281. Tythe Barn Wellingborough Address: Tythe Barn, Burystead Place, Wellingborough, Northamptonshire About: The ironstone Tithe Barn in Wellingborough dates back to the 15th century.
