This photo was taken from the place where I had my tea every morning, weather permitting, in front of Barton Cottage on Staples Hill (late October 2006). The horses often ambled over for a visit.

Barton Cottage, Staples Hill, Freshford

I found this small 17th c. cottage to be the perfect place to build a nice fire in the woodstove and spend the day writing.

Freshford--the town

Freshford seems out of place in Somerset. To me it has the look of a town in Tuscany. A lovely place, but driving in the town is not for the faint of heart or the easily confused!
