The Star Inn at Roberttown The Star Inn is a public house at Roberttown which is two miles up the Huddersfield Road from Rawfolds Mill, Liversedge. This is where Luddite John Booth the son of a clergyman, was taken to and eventually died after terrible injuries inflicted upon him during the seige of Rawfolds Mill. It is reputed that Hammond Roberson who was at the Inn, had bent forwards in response to a signal from the dying Booth who whispered 'Can you keep a secret?' Roberson nodded a yes; 'so can I'. Booth replied as he breathed his last. This picture appears in the following picture tours: Camera Make: NIKON Model: E7600 |
