The Yellow Buckeye A little bit of treevia:)...This Yellow Buckeye has been grafted on to a Horse Chestnut root stock. The tree comes from and closely resembles the Ohio Buckeye, the state tree of Ohio. Don't really know why it is planted on the site of a Roman Villa but it looks lovely in the sunshine. Victorian Shooting Lodge The half-timbered shooting lodge was built in the centre of the Villa by Lord Eldon on whose land it lies, he displayed findings from the site and had shelters built over some of the ruins so that his guests could view them when thay stayed at the lodge, it is because he protected them that some of the rooms and mosaic floors are in such good condition.
