Former Blacksmith's, The Green, Thringstone

Within the curtilage of this property originally stood the toll gate to the village. Deeds for the property show a connection to Francesco Sforza, Duke de Seigny (Italy) from the 1800s.

Thringstone's village green forms the centre of this village, from which Main Street runs. Several 17th and 18th century houses line this road, the original road through the village

Bauble Yard and Booth monument

In the 19th century, bauble making was a cottage industry in the village. Baubles are small spar ornaments. Charles Booth lived just outside our village, and was a prominant philanthropist. This picture shows his monument and part of Bauble Yard.
