Shillingstone in Dorset
The packhorse bridge at Fifehead Nevill, situated between Shillingstone and Hazelbury Bryan. The single-track lane, taking (optimistic) motor traffic, runs through the River Divelish, by way of a ford. This can be risky if the river is in flood, the posts indicate the depth. If they are half covered, unless you are in a fair-sized tractor forget it, there are alternative routes into Hazelbury Bryan. A favourite spot for highwaymen in the past? - Graham Rains (photographer)
