Stairway to the Blarney Stone

The climb is equivalent to walking up about 8 or 10 floors in a building. It gets narrower and steeper as you get higher. Very cool!

It's A Dirty Job.....

....but somebody's got to do it! lol. My husband was marveling at the scaffolding and wondering what it was like to go and work on a 500 plus year old building.

Climb to the Stone Interpretive Sign at Blarney Castle

I always take a picture of the interpretive signs because I don't want to take the time to read them on site. Look at the hat in the lower right. I wish I captured the whole sign, because the rest of the sign stated that the ancient, winding stone stairway to the top was very steep and narrow but both Oliver Hardy and Winston Churchill had both made it. lol
