Studley Royal, Ripon, North Yorkshire Studley Royal Park is a designated World Heritage site in North Yorkshire which incorporates the ruins of Fountains Abbey within its 800 acre grounds. The park was landscaped in a picturesque romantic style and is considered to be one of England's most important 18th century water gardens. The garden was created by John Aislabie in 1718 and includes ornamental lakes, canals, temples and cascades, as well as a number of follies.
