The Alnwick Garden, Alnwick, Northumberland The Alnwick Garden includes a Serpent Garden where topiary holly bushes snake round to reveal water sculptures in the coils. This one is called Torricelli because it works on the principles of hydrostatic pressure which so fascinated an Italian mathematician of the same name.
