Forbury Gardens. Part of the Forbury Gardens in Reading with the Church of St.James in the background. The remains of Reading Abbey are found at a nearby corner of the gardens. Henry I Memorial This Memorial is found in Forbury Gardens close to the ruins of Reading Abbey built by Henry I and it is the site of his burial. The Abbey remains are sparse and in poor repair, a lot of the grounds are closed and locked up until the remains can be made safe.
