Across Bodmin Moor Shot taken at Dozmary Pool looking back across Bodmin Moor at some of the higher ground. The highest point on Bodmin Moor is Brown Willy but the more interesting highpoint is the second highest called Rough Tor ( pronounced row-tor). You can see Roughtor top left in this shot with the twin high points. On top of Rough Tor there is a memorial plaque to the 43rd Wessex Division. The Track to Dozmary Pool. Another shot of Dozmary Pool as the last one I posted a year or so back had plenty rainspots on the lens. The pool has a magical feel to it and it has plenty of legend attached to it as described in my previous shot. It may have not been raining but the track was very muddy and also very dodgy to walk down as the evidence of a herd of cows using it was very obvious ( and smelly ! ) . TIS WET UP ON THEM MOORS This is Dozmary Pool high up on Bodmin Moor near to Jamaica Inn at Bolventor. This is where Sir Bevedere returned Excalibur to the Lady of the Lake after King Arthur's last battle. Another legend to do with the lake (which is supposed to be bottomless) is a Jan Tregeale was set a punishment for having a pact with the Devil. His task was to empty the lake with a leaky limpet shell. Jan gave up and run away but was set another equally impossible task at Roche Rock. I think the lake has been known to have dried up in the past. This picture appears in the following picture tours: Camera Make: Panasonic Model: DMC-FZ38 |
