Carrick Roads. This shot was taken from the top of Trelissick Park looking down Carrick Roads towards Falmouth and out into open water. Carrick Roads is a natural harbour ( in fact the third largest in the world ). The entrance to Carrick Roads was defended by a castle on each side at the entrance built by Henry the Eighth, they are Pendennis castle on the Falmouth side and St.Mawes Castle on the Roseland side. I estimate the shot from Trelissick to the boats is about five miles and I took the shot hand held. This picture appears in the following picture tours: Camera Make: Canon Model: Canon EOS 550D |
