Cottage With Sea View- Port Quin I think this may well be a much photographed cottage with it's position at the entrance to Port Quin harbour. The name Port Quin probably has it's name derived from Porth Gwynn ( harbour white ).As far back as the 1300s the harbour was busy trading in a number of items ( much with Wales) and of course pilchard fishing. By the 1840's things were not going so well and it is said all the men of the village were lost at sea when fishing on the sabbath - a day they should never have been at sea. Back in the 1970's Port Quin found fame as being one of the film locations for the original series of Poldark.
