Taken from Peter Rabbits Garden we can see Hilltop and Beatrix Potter gained many an inspiration for her stories from around her home and places within the village of Near Sawrey.

Hilltop Visitors

As you would expect there are many visitors to Hilltop to see where Beatrix Potter lived and because of the numbers, entrance to the house is by timed tickets. The house is very dark inside to preserve it as it was in Beatrix's time, on her wish the inside is just as she left, almost as if she had popped out to the village shop and could return any moment. Of note the most common visitor to Hilltop from overseas is the Japanesse, they are in awe of anything Beatrix Potter and many come to Hilltop and the Beatrix Potter Attraction in Bowness on Windermere.
