Exeter Cathedral and the Tomb This is the tomb of Hugh Courtney, 2nd Earl of Devon and his wife. The display of greenery to the side of the tomb added a feeling of tranquility to this corner of the Cathedral. The Exeter Test Card Yes this is Exeter Cathedral and it is the famous window above the entrance to the Cathedral, and I am sure other folk have taken and posted this view with some detail of it's history. I just had to take this shot as I had seen it so many times before but in a different context. I cannot remember which one but one of the camera and lens test reviews done by one of the camera mags often took this shot as part of their equipment reviews and so many times one looks at the detail in the window to see how a lens and/or a lens would cope with the shot- well this is how my gear coped and it was handheld. Virgin and Child The statue of the Virgin and Child can be found in the Lady Chapel of Exeter Cathedral. It is a recent addition in terms of the Cathedral having been installed in 1983. It was given by the last members of the Community of St.Wilfred of Duryard Grange, Mother Lilian and Sister Elsie. It was recoloured by a conservator, Eddie Sinclair.
