View From Portland Bill A shot taken from a hotel at the top of The Isle of Portland looking along to the west at Chesil Beach. One can see residential and industrial areas before the shingle spit of land goes on for about 18 miles. Nowadays there are many areas along the beach that are wildlife havens, however during World War Two Barnes Wallis tested his bouncing bomb in the area.
