Ashtead Common

One very small corner of Ashtead Common. The Common joins up with Epsom Common and is a site of scientific interest. Somewhere out on the common is an old Roman villa and tile works. A large range flora and fauna abound, which would probably explain why the railways were denied permission to lay a line connecting Ashtead to the Chessington area.

Ashtead Station.

Ashtead Station looking south as the train disappears in the direction of Leatherhead. The Station itself is undergoing a major update and a lot of work is to be done (and I do not think this is going to be a cheap job ).
