Jubilee Memorial Clock Tower Located in The Esplanade opposite King Street. The Clock Tower was originally positioned on a stone base on Weymouth sands, but in the 1920s the Esplanade was built around it to protect the sands from the encroachment of shingle from the eastern end of the beach. Jubilee Memorial Clock Tower The large 4-faced clock tower was erected to commemorate Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee in 1887. Each side contains a panel with a gold-coloured depiction of the queen's head. Above each panel is another panel showing the Weymouth arms. It was a gift to the town by Sir Henry Edwards who was a British Liberal Member of Parliament for Weymouth and Melcombe Regis from 1867 until 1885.
