Hello. I'm Tommy from Dumbarton. I was puzzled to find pictures of Dumbarton Castle in a web site called Pictures of England. Don't you need to change the name of the site?

Hi Thomas, welcome to POE from Anna and Ron.

This has been discussed previously and in fact POE owners Chris and Sarah own domain name PicturesOfBritain.com and have previously asked members if they would prefer to change the name, or leave things as they are and add pictures of Scotland, Ireland, Wales etc.

Until now the decision has been to leave things as they are, but POE accepts the pictures referred to for 'possible use' with a different domain name later. Hope that answers your question, enjoy the site..

Finally a Scot ventured onto the site! WELCOME.

My grandfather was born & bred in Strath Don, Aberdeenshire. Perhaps sometime in future there will be PicturesOfBritain.

PicturesOfEngland is a wonderful web site and members treat each other as both friends and family. Unusual isn't it? No web site I've ever been on is so friendly.

We've (meaning the message board locals) played with several names over the years. I think we wanted to stick with Pictures of England because we call it POE and we are POErs. Pictures of Britain would make it POB and us POBers. Nah! Doesn't sonud right.

How about Pictures of England Ireland Scotland and Waled. POEISW or POEWIS. Oh now that would work. We could be POEWISers.

HA! I amuse myself.

To all--when I said to Tommy someday there may be a PicturesOfBritain I didn't mean that POE would change. No, a sister web site possibly.  No one can predict what may happen in 2018 or 2020.
