About Launcells

Launcells lies in a tranquil valley above the pleasant sea-side resort of Bude. All around is fine countryside with spectacular views over meadows and pastureland inhabited by contented grazing sheep and cattle. This is an area of great natural beauty, the River Neet, a constant souce of delight, flows close-by and in the hedgegrow there are many wild flowers and butterflies to be seen.

The village is proud of it's ancient church. The church of St.Andrew dates 15th-century and has a delightfully unrestored interior. It has a wagon-roof, 15th-century tiles and richly carved bench ends. There is a monument with effigy dating 1644. In it's rustic simplicity this church is well worth a visit.

Nearby Bude has a lovely golden beach and offers good surfing and sailing.
