Just 350 feet from the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake, Lakeside Lodge is a 1-bedroom Cumbrian retreat 10 minutes’ drive from the center of Cockermouth. In the grounds of the Lakeside Country Guest House, this open-plan lodge has free parking and Wi-Fi. The cozy accommodations includes a lounge with flat-screen TV and DVD player, and a well-equipped kitchen with oven, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. The bathroom is downstairs and has a bath and power shower. A hand-crafted wooden staircase leads to the double bedroom with wooden flooring, wardrobe and views of the surrounding countryside. A garden with terrace provides outdoor seating. Keswick is just a 10-minute drive from Lakeside Lodge, with Lake Windermere less than 1 hour away. Cumbria’s western coast, with towns including Workington and Maryport, is around 20 minutes’ drive.
