Went on this little ferry once.....simply because we were there!!!If you catch it right it saves a lot of time crossing from the west side of Windermere to Bowness instead of driving around the lake
We stayed in a cottage a few hundred yards up the Western side of Windermere from the ferry so got to use it a lot. Apart from the first afternoon having to wait over half an hour, we got it just right driving up to the ferry and straight on and away ( also helped in that we were exempt as regards to the ferry charge ). Nice one Alan.
