About Chittlehamholt

Chittlehamholt is a lovely peaceful village lying in unspoilt countryside close to the River Taw. It has a shop, post office and pub which serves excellent meals and has a variety of ales, wines and soft drinks.

The village is surrounded by rolling fields and woodland with many wildlife habitats giving a haven to Badger, Foxes, Buzzard, Hawkes and all sorts of birds.

Chittlehamholt's location makes the rich North Devon coastline easily accessible. The Taw estuary at Barnstaple gives way to the beaches of Woolacombe and Morte Bay, and on the southern side of the estuary is delightful Appledore, and Westward Ho!

The area has plenty of attractions for family days out, these include historic houses, gardens and farm-parks. There is the opportunity for fishing and golf, and for anyone looking for bigger and better shopping facilities, Barnstaple has a full range of shops including major retail stores. It also has a museum which tells visitors all about the history and maritime heritage of the region.

Accommodation in Chittlehamholt includes friendly bed and breakfasts and a caravan park.
