About Charlestown

This is a pleasant Weymouth suburb in the parish of Chickerell. It has a pretty narrow harbour just a short distance from The Fleet and the renowned Chesil Beach.

A lovely summer place where you get the best several world's - rich, coastal scenery, an abundance of wildlife and nature resorts, and a hinterland of fine countryside.

Charlestown is on the South-West Coastal Path, and is close to the Abbotsbury Swannery, The Hardy Monument and Portland Harbour. It is an excellent sailing centre and makes an attractive place to stay at any time of year, a good alternative to the more densely populated resort of Weymouth.
