About Stapehill

Stapehill, in the beautiful Dorset countryside is best known for its romantic Abbey gardens which are an absolute joy for every visitor including gardening enthusiasts.

The Abbey is an early 19th-century convent with a Victorian garden. Here visitors can see year round colour, particularly in autumn. There are numerous craft centres and exhibitions showing the rural nature of the region. Of interest to children is Home Farm where a variety of domestic animals reside - this was planned as an extension to the craft museum.

The Abbey offers a wide ranging programme of yearly events. These include a Steam weekend, and Christmas celebrations during December.

There is plenty of opportunity to purchase hand-made goods, and a pleasant cafe serves delicious home made lunches and Dorset cream teas.

There are the usual village amenities including local inns.
