Jubilee Memorial Clock Tower

The large 4-faced clock tower was erected to commemorate Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee in 1887. Each side contains a panel with a gold-coloured depiction of the queen's head. Above each panel is another panel showing the Weymouth arms. It was a gift to the town by Sir Henry Edwards who was a British Liberal Member of Parliament for Weymouth and Melcombe Regis from 1867 until 1885.

Good to read the description and I like the quality of this fine stock image. POE needs more pictures of this standard.

I have to agree with Rod's comments. The quality is excellent and often such pictures of quirky Victorian monuments are in demand. The detailed history is also helpful.
