Nightwatch - The statues of Kingston upon Hull. George Henry Smith (Skipper) and William Leggett (Third Hand) lost their lives aboard the ill-fated trawler ‘Crane’ when attacked by the Russian Baltic Fleet who mistook their vessel for the Japanese Navy, on 22nd October 1904. Also commemorated is Walter Whelpton of the trawler ‘Mind’ who died later on the 13th May 1905.
