About The Oak

Located a 5-minute walk from the village of Peasmarsh, The Great Escape is a family-run accommodations offering easy access to the surrounding High Weald, Area of Natural Beauty. Simple rooms at The Great Escape feature an private bathroom, a TV and heating. Free WiFi is available. The dining room features beamed ceilings and an open fireplace. There is a pub a short walk up the road, serving great food, beer and wines. In April 2019, the property will be opening a café onsite which will be serving breakfast, brunch, lunch and afternoon tea. The Shepherds Hut is located a short walk across the garden, and features a fridge, a radio and a wood-burning stove. The center of the village is a short walk away and here you can find traditional English pubs, as well local shops. The surrounding High Weald area is ideal for country walks. Rye, its railway station and the nearest beaches are within a 10-minute drive of The Great Escape.
