Built above colourful fossil rich cliffs by Trinity House in 1721, the Naze Tower rises 85 feet into the air and affords visitors splendid views of the sun dappled ocean, the town of Walton, with views of the countryside extending coastward towards Felixstowe.
A spiral staircase takes visitors up through several floors displaying the work of local artists, at the top is the castellated roof of the octagonal brick building, which was intended as a navigational marker for the Port of Harwich.
The Naze Tower is known locally as the "Landmark", but for visitors to the town it offers a fascinating experience of a purpose built early Eighteenth century marker for seafarers, coupled with memorable views.
