1996 Was The Last Time I Was There.

A shot of London from Epsom Downs, somewhere near to where I presume Tony Tooth took his recent pic on POE. As Tony said on his shot the distance must be around 15 miles and on this occasion hand held and with a very high wind gusting, I think I am lucky not to have a blurry mess. This is about as close to London as I go, not at all keen on it and the last time was in 1996 and that was only to collect a certificate. I was put off in the 70's by the survey work I had to do in some pretty rough and run down areas.

You got a really good effect here Vince which I think portrays London quite well,as seen from the 'countryside'. Long time since I was in London, mid 80's I reckon

Very good results for a hand-held compact camera, it probably wouldn't be much better even if you had used a tripod. The image stabiliser was obviously doing a good job. The limiting factor in this shot seems to have been the atmospheric conditions.
