About Shephall

This was once a quiet village in the Hertfordshire countryside, it is now almost entirely surrounded by the spread of Stevenage following its designation as a "New town" after the end of World War II.

Today, Shephall is most noted for its ancient St. Mary's Church with its old Lych Gate and churchyard which contains a number of interesting graves and tombs, some dating back to the 1800's.
