The Clock Tower, Snodland

The plaque on the clock tower reads "This clock tower was erected in loving memory of CHARLES TOWNSEND HOOK of veles and the paperworks of Snodland by his sorrowing mother and sisters Died 11th February 1877 Loved and respected".

An 'interesting' structure, but I don't think I would want to see it outside my front door. I am astounded that planning permission was granted for building residential housing so close to it. Also hope for those living nearby, that the clock doesn't chime through the night.

When I came across this tower I too was amazed that it was very closely surrounded by blocks of flats and quite a few of them. Well at least the tower was not demolished.
