About Digby

This is a tranquil village set in a lovely rural location in the vale of the Digby Beck watercourse. It is known mostly for its parish church dedicated to St.Thomas a' Becket, and for Digby Corner, a wildlife sanctuary.

The church is built in the Gothic style, its decorative spire is a noted local landmark. Surrounding the church is a peaceful grassed churchyard where visitors can see an ancient cross as well as old graves and tombstones.

Visitors can see attractive properties in the area, the village has a friendly shop/post office, and a local pub - the Red Lion. The War Memorial Hall built to honour the dead of W.W.II acts as the village hall, this is much used for local events and as a base for clubs.

Lincoln, where you can find one of England's loveliest cathedral's is within easy driving distance, as is the town of Sleaford. Near to the village is the large Royal Airforce Base, R.A.F Digby. The village is also within around 6 miles of the National Cycle Networks Route 1.

The region has some beautiful countryside, its picturesque meadows watered by the rivers Witham and Brant offer lovely places to explore, both rivers are easily accessible from Digby, along them you will find reeded pathways, dipping trees and a host of wildlife.
