About Edith Weston

Charming, historic village, which was once the Royal domain of Edith, Queen to Edward the Confessor, who gave the village to his wife as a gift. King Edward's Way, a lane in the village further immortalises the Royal connection.

The village lies on the southern shores of Rutland Water, one of Europe's largest man-made reservoirs, and England's premier fly fishing waters.

The shoreline forms an important nature reserve for waterfowl, with the 3,500 acre waters being the haunt of boating and water-sport enthusiasts from miles around.

Visitors will find lovely nature trails, pleasant picnic spots and plenty to admire in the village which has quaint cottages, a pleasing village green, village pub and farm shop.
