About Abbots Bromley

Early in September, a traditional Horn dance is performed in Abbots Bromley. This is a rite that is centuries old and probably of pagan origin. It is danced by six men wearing ancient antlers, a man straggling a hobby-horse, a fool and a boy carrying a bow and arrow. People gather from all over to witness this event and it is perhaps, for this that Abbots Bromley is best known. It is a lively time and well worth attending.

The village itself consists of picturesque Georgian Houses and Half Timbered cottages spaciously arranged around the village green where you will find a 17th-century buttercross.
