About Erwarton

Erwarton is beautifully situated on the Stour Estuary. It is an enchanting village with several picturesque historic properties. Of particular note are the striking red brick almshouses that date from 1740. A building from Elizabethan times is a fabulous Hall that has a most unusual pinnacled gateway. The countryside around here is soft and beautiful and Erwarton is surrounded by both the Stour and the beautiful River Orwell. It is a green and spacious village that is well worth a visit.
