Pictures of Rattlesden

a Picturesque Village in the county of Suffolk

About Rattlesden

Rattlesden is pretty village which is located between Stowmarket (in the east) and Bury St Edmunds (to the west) in an unusually hilly part of Suffolk.

The river Rat runs through the village, over which a pair of Whale bones form an arch across the river, symbolic of the villages long river trade history, however the bones are replicas of real ones that once stood there during the 9th century.

St Nicholas church dates to the 13th century and is one of 60 listed buildings throughout the village, where you will see well preserved timber-framed buildings as well as old thatched cottages.
