Sizewell nuclear Plant, Suffolk

Sizewell Power stations, the white golf ball structure is the nuclear dome at Sizewell B station. The budget to build was £56 million, but it soon grew to £65 million. The station was opened on 7 April 1967. The power station was shut down on 31 December 2006, and the cost of decommissioning is at a cost of £1.2 billion.

Very sci-fi feel to this shot. The absence of any people adds to the mystery. Incidentally, it was only Sizewell 'A' that was closed in 2006. Sizewell 'B' (the one with the dome) is still fully operational.
