I am reluctant to make this observation, but I see that this shot includes a street sign of a certain bawdy notoriety (the street-sign is near the right-hand edge of the frame and about half way up). Whether this street name had the approval or cognisance of Sir Titus Salt is a matter of conjecture.
In fact Edward Sir Titus named most of the streets after his family. This particular street was named after one of his daughters.
Thank you for the explanation, Paul, I was sure the name must have had an innocent origin. It is a nice example of how an innocent street name can be misconstrued in modern parlance. There are many other examples of old English street names with dubious modern connotations, though I would not dare suggest this as a new picture category. BTW, the sharp rendering of the street sign confirms the quality of your Nikon kit.
