Lady Chapel, Dorchester Abbey

This small Chapel within Dorchester Abbey is dedicated to Our Lady - hence the name Lady Chapel. The wall decorations look ancient but are in fact late 19th century. The mystic rose motif and the 'MR' monogram (Maria Regina) illustrate devotion to the Blessed Virgin. The Reredos (Altar background) is a recently commissioned work by the artist Rebecca Hind, entitled 'Bright Rising'.

Very nice shot Edward, it does look older than 19th century.
