Hospitium (Guest House) of Reading Abbey

The building seen here in St Laurence churchyard has its origins in 1189 as the Hospitium (Guest House) of Reading Abbey. It has served in many other roles over the centuries, and is now a Children's Daycare Centre.

Thank you, Paul. There are still a few ancient buildings in Reading town centre, but you have to know where to look. It was a challenge getting a decent shot of it, because like so many ancient buildings, it is now hemmed in by modern developments.
