Newbold Tunnel. Newbold on Avon.

Spotlights cast colourful light onto the roof of Newbold Tunnel on the Oxford Canal. It is 1/4 mile long, over 180 years old and was built during the shortening of the Oxford Canal in the 1820s. The original Newbold Tunnel ran under the B4112 road and its south portal can still be seen from the churchyard of St Botolph’s Church.
