The Cabot Tower on Brandon Hill, Bristol

The tower was built to commemorate the voyages of John Cabot, who set sail from Bristol in 1497 arriving in Newfoundland with the intention of opening trade routes between North America and Bristol.

A really nice closer in shot of this fantastic structure. Must be a great view up there.

Thanks for the kind comment, Chris and Sarah. Yes, the Cabot Tower affords a great view over Bristol on a clear day, with good views of the Clifton Suspension Bridge and the SS Great Britain. An added attraction is that it is free entry. All you need is the stamina to climb the stairs.
